Carne Asada


This cut of beef is thin and lean. With that said, you want to introduce tenderizing components to the marinade like citrus juice and vinegar, and then cook it quickly on a high heat. This recipe is an easy and delicious base for tacos or chopped salad.

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 2 Minutes

Yield: 1 lb Carne Asada Cut Meat

INGREDIENTS

1 lb Carne Asada

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

½ cup yellow onion, finely chopped

½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped

½ bunch oregano, finely chopped

½ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed

¼ cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed

1 tablespoon white vinegar

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon black pepper, ground

1 teaspoon cayenne

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon cumin seed, ground

PREPARATION

Combine all of the ingredients in a bag or pan and marinate for at least 4 hours if not overnight

Drain the meat from the marinade and bring it to room temperature

Heat up a cast iron pan or make sure the grill is nice and hot

Cook the meat for only 1 minute per side and let it rest for ten minutes

Slice it nice and thin against the grain. Chop it up once again if you like for tacos
