Searing the Perfect Ribeye Steak

Ribeye is many people's favorite steak, because it's so juicy and flavorsome. Luckily, it's simple to cook in a cast iron pan. Seasoning the beef for 30 minutes is the key to a nice crust on your steak.

Prep Time: 30 Minutes

Cook Time: 10 Minutes

Yield: 1 Steak

INGREDIENTS

1 Rib Eye Bone In

1 garlic clove, smashed

1 tablespoon thyme, chopped

2 oz butter

½ tablespoon salt

PREPARATION

Remove the steak from the fridge 30 min before cooking, and season immediately

Bring a dry cast iron pan to high heat (the meat has enough marbled fat, you don't need oil). After the pan begins to smoke, add the ribeye and leave it alone for 3 minutes before flipping

Flip it to the other side and cook for another 3 minutes

Cut the heat and add in the garlic, thyme and butter

Tilt the pan and baste the meat for a couple of minutes
