Ground Pork Burger

Markegard Family heritage hogs are raised in the forest and finished on acorns and apples. They roam free and grow slowly. This is the most flavorsome, succulent and nutritious pork you can buy.

Yield: 6 ea, 6 oz Meatballs

Prep Time: 10 Minutes

Cook Time: 10 Minutes

INGREDIENTS

2 lb Ground Pork

1 yellow onion, finely diced

½ bunch parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped

½ tablespoon garlic powder

½ tablespoon onion powder

½ tablespoon paprika

½ tablespoon kosher salt

½ tablespoon black pepper, ground

PREPARATION

Saute the onions on medium heat until slightly brown around the edges

Add the garlic and saute for one more minute. Remove from the heat

In a separate dry pan, lightly toast the ground spices until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the spices!

Once cool, add to a large mixing bowl with all of the other ingredients and combine until fully incorporated

Marinate overnight or form your burgers right now

Form 6oz burgers, about 3/4" thick, and sear in a hot pan for about 3 minutes per side

The pork will be cooked when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit

TIPS

I recommend tasting your first burger for seasoning prior to cooking all of the mixture.

These burgers can also be cooked on the grill.
